Astoria Park
The Astoria Park Alliance's yearly pumpkin smash is near the corner of Ditmars Blvd and 19th Street. There's a giant slingshot, a smash zone, games and face painting, and the smashed pumpkins go to DSNY for composting. The Alliance says the event may be cancelled or rescheduled because of weather, so check its page before you go.
