How we verify
Every listing, every time.
Official sources only. Every listing links to the organizer's own page: the venue, the city agency or park, or the official ticket or RSVP page. We don't copy listings from other event sites.
Checked before it goes up. We open that page and confirm the date, time, location and that it's free (or exactly what's free). Things that cost money show their price and stay out of the free lists. If something is free to walk into but has optional costs, it's labeled Free to enter.
A last-checked date on every listing. Each listing shows when we last checked the official page, plus a link to it so you can see for yourself.
Automatic rechecks. Listings are rechecked on a schedule. If the official page disappears or says the event is cancelled or postponed, the listing is pulled or flagged for review. Old, ended listings drop off on their own.
Feeds we read. Some listings come from official open feeds, like the NYC Parks events feed. Those still carry the official link and go through the same checks.
People review it. Community submissions and anything our checks flag are reviewed by hand before they appear.
Corrections. Spot something wrong? Use “Report a problem” on any listing or contact us. We recheck the official page and fix or remove the listing, usually within a day.
