Guide
New Year’s Eve in New York is cold, crowded and mostly free if you plan it. NYC Tourism lists the Times Square Ball Drop for December 31, 2026–January 1, 2027, with free public viewing subject to security rules. Confirm viewing and bag rules on timessquarenyc.org closer to the date — details change every year.
We only show listings already verified on Free Stuff NYC whose official pages support the 2026 date. Prospect Park’s fireworks page still describes the Dec 31, 2025 show, so it is not listed here until a 2026 official page appears. 5 verified listings are on this hub (5 free).
For quieter December nights, try tree lightings, Hanukkah and holiday markets.
