Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11, 2026. New York’s main free event is the Veterans Day Parade on Fifth Avenue, produced by the United War Veterans Council — the country’s largest Veterans Day parade, with marching units, floats and free sidewalk viewing. NASA astronaut and Navy veteran Sunita “Suni” Williams is the 2026 grand marshal.

Around the date, parks and historic sites host commemorations and ranger programs. This hub shows only listings already verified on Free Stuff NYC: 5 listings right now (5 free). Check lottery or RSVP notes on any Parks program before you go.

After Veterans Day, see Thanksgiving in NYC for the Macy’s parade on November 26, then holiday markets for December shopping.
